RingoFlick A cool microtonal album that should be getting more attention. Favorite track: Fluorescent City.

abentwrygrin A most accessible foray into non-standard tuning systems. A nice mix of synth-pop, atmospheric, and instrumental pieces. I look forward to hearing more from Brendan, and his 22-tet band ILEVENS, too. Favorite track: Operator.

ddb What really holds my interest in this is how the microtonal elements are used in the context of. I guess Nomral for a microtonal thing we have to listen to weird aggresive crazy thing like Horatiu Radulesco or some very patient thing like Lamont Young. (love both of those guys) But in this context, the way that the microtonal choices support the melody and harmonic progression is super interesting and very unique Favorite track: Kaleidoscopic.

Can This Even Be Called Music? His knowledge of the system makes the songs sound natural and easily appreciable to even a neophyte audience. This is the future

i really like the way you locked me out i really like the way it’s working out i need someone to shake this feeling now of apathy in place of lashing out we know lights go out wonder if we’ll ever see enough hysteria set it off feeling like forever let down cynical like you watching people never give it up hysterical, cyclical seems like we already let go cynical, a lot like you, yeah we really got a taste for dropping out a million miles away from thumping crowds we still don’t have a way to keep this down from spinning out away from who we crowned i’m weary of hysteria wonder if we’ll ever see enough hysteria set it off feeling like forever let down cynical like you watching people never give it up hysterical, cyclical seems like we already let go cynical, a lot like you hysteria, hope finds you cynical, a lot like you hysteria, hope finds you

we are the ones that have never given in wait out the sun we are the ones for another day living deep down low a song i’ve been singing through the years sums up what i know we are the start of a bitter end never need to let go in a city of playful lives in a city that lost it’s halo we don’t care, we don’t care we just chase our lives around reach out to walls that have never given in stabilized hold feel out the space of another day spinning through black halls these sounds have been ringing in my ear drowns out what i know to be the start of another day living in lost love in a city of playful lives in a city that lost it’s halo we don’t care, we don’t care we just chase our lives around don’t lose those that lift you up don’t be so intractable

Operator 05:26
stay out, lost amongst the new sights go into oblivion and run wild laid out before you lies your crazed mind slip away from thoughts that only you know oh, it’s so material it feels right alone i came here, i can’t remember why it’s like there’s something inside of my mind an operator is on the line and tells me what we can do with our time living here fade out, fluctuate, spin round oh, it’s so superior to real life go into oblivion and run wild alone i came here, i can’t remember why it’s like there’s something inside of my mind an operator is on the line and tells me what we can do with our time i came here, i can’t remember why

Paradise 04:39
we’re not safe, we got out of line we’re in the middle of a fire fight you’ve lost yours, i’ve lost mine it’s over the clock takes one at a time but in a minute we’ll be alright the mind knows, stops time, in windows yeah you’ve lost yours, i’ve lost mine it’s over ‘cause if we never all die then nothing seems to matter, right? and if we get to paradise souls can’t even scatter light as if it even matters.. i think it would be better to stay out, to stay out, to stay out stay outside it’s not fate, it’s not by design we’re in the limits of our hindsight you’ve watched yours, I’ve watched mine through windows the lock breaks and we’re not confined in a minute we’ll be outside the mind knows, stops time, in windows yeah ‘cause if we never all die then nothing seems to matter, right? and if we get to paradise souls can’t even scatter light as if it even matters.. i think it would be better to stay out, to stay out, to stay out stay outside
